As your Virginia newborn photographer, I love getting to follow your motherhood journey with you and can’t wait to meet your little one when he/she arrives!

It’s always amazing to see you in your new role as parents. I know those first few days (and months, and years, for that matter) can seem daunting. There’s just no way to fully prepare for just how much this little person is going to change your life. People told you that you would be tired – but you had no idea you would be *this* tired! And people told you that it would be all-consuming, but you didn’t know that meant you’d give up sleep just to check on this little person. You also didn’t realize just how much your heart could grow, or that you would feel it get bigger, the minute someone placed your baby in your arms.

There’s just nothing like experiencing this new kind of love that just completely takes over. It is always an honor to get to document you as you are lost in the dreamy, hazy days, where you may not know exactly what you’re doing – but you certainly know why.

This sweet mama documented her maternity session in the studio a few months ago. You can see that session here. I was so excited when this mama called to tell me her son was born!

This little guy was so content. If he wasn’t sleeping, he was just calmly looking around and made such sweet eye contact with his mama and daddy. While I love the calmness on the face of a sleeping newborn, it’s certainly special to see those big eyes start to check out the world!
