The 40 weeks you carry your baby are so very special. Though you have not yet seen baby’s face, you are forming an incredible bond with this little one. As your Washington, DC maternity photographer, I love when mothers reach out to set up a maternity session just for them. It’s a sweet, quiet afternoon that allows you to enjoy one of the last few days that you carry your baby inside of you. What a beautiful way to celebrate the strength and beauty of your body and motherhood. And what a gift for you and your little one to have these photographs forever.

This mama spent a few minutes with me in the studio for some very refined, minimal portraits. I love how classic those portraits are. She then changed into the sweetest little dress and we headed across the street to one of the historic homes in my neighborhood. The beautiful pink azaeleas added such a sweet touch of color around the old, white porch. We added some delicate lilac and a stunning straw hat to add to the springtime feel of this session.

I love this perspective. Such a lovely way to honor that sweet curve of your pregnant belly.

Isn’t this the most lovely historic home? So lucky that it’s directly across from the studio and the owner has agreed to let me use it for sessions like these!
