As your Washington, DC maternity photographer, I’m often asked the best location for a maternity session. If you’re looking for a place that’s close to the city, the US National Arboretum is absolutely one of my favorites. While it changes considerably throughout the year, the spring and summer bring bright and beautiful blooms. The fall brings gorgeous foliage. And the Capitol Columns always add a stunning nod to the District.

I love when my couples choose to hold their session there are sunset. It truly makes for the most perfect date night. You get to stroll through the beautiful gardens and take in the gorgeous views, all while bathed in that warm, evening sun with not another soul in sight. It’s the kind of evening you won’t forget, but will forever be grateful for the photographs we create. They’ll surely become heirlooms for you and your family.

I had an absolutely lovely evening with these two who are now calling Northern Virginia home. I love that they chose this perfectly DMV location to document this milestone in their new home.
