As your Northern Viriginia newborn photographer, most of my newborn sessions take place when baby is about 2 weeks old. This family decided to wait a bit longer and document their son when he was 1 month old. Yes, they change and grow so quickly – but there are some advantages to waiting until your baby is a bit older. You’re feeling more comfortable – not just physically, but you are feeling more confident as you take care of your little one. My favorite part, though, is all of that eye contact! At one month old, most babies are awake for a large part of their session with me – just like this guy was.

Based on their maternity session, which you can see here – I knew this little guy would be handsome. And just look at him! What a perfect little person!

I love all of the connection here. Dad’s hand so gently on mama, while mama leans into her little guy. Such a joy to document these little moments for new families!
