As your Washington, DC family photographer, most of my sessions involve babies or young children. But I love when couples reach out to me to document their family’s story! That was the case with this couple, who requested that I photograph them for their 2nd wedding anniversary. Whether children are in your future or not, I strongly believe that you should be documenting your life! And if children do become a part of your family, what a gift to be able to show them how much you valued your relationship from the very beginning.

I met these two at the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial bright and early this morning. There were dozens of graduation photo sessions happening at the same time, but with some creative angles, we were able to make it look like we had the place to ourselves. Every morning I shoot here is different, but it just never gets old – that view and the vibe out there is always something special.

While we planned to have a simple couple’s session, these two received some news a few days prior to their session. If you are paying extra attention, you might guess what it is!
