I loved every minute of my time with this little family a few weeks ago at their maternity session at the Lincoln Memorial. I couldn’t wait to get the call that baby was here! As your Washington, DC newborn photographer, I am (almost) just as excited as you are to meet the little one that you carry. It is truly a joy to see you a few weeks later with that sweet baby in your arms. I love chatting with you and hearing your birth story and I have so much fun helping you pick out which traits came from which parent. These early days are so very special. They’re overwhelming for sure, and truly, they’re such a haze that I promise you (speaking from experience), in just a few short years you won’t even remember them.

When I photograph your baby, you’ll see that my work is very minimal and clean. There’s no need for props or unnatural poses. Your baby is perfect just the way he is, and in 20 years, that’s what you’ll want to remember. You’ll see other babies with flaky, peeling skin and wonder if yours had the same. As your now-grown child waves to you from the school bus, you’ll wonder how it could be true that you could hold him so perfectly in your arms. These are the details and moments I work to document for you. It’s always an honor to be trusted to preserve this blur of fresh motherhood.
