We are so lucky to be surrounded by hills and farmland just outside the immediate DC area. As a Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer, I love to take my clients out to these areas. It’s so nice to enjoy the peace and quiet and really take in the smell and feel of the fresh air. We chose to go to 48 Fields for this session and had the best time together! The white barn is pretty in any season, and we were lucky enough to have beautiful crepe myrtles and wildflowers in bloom. Farms makes great locations for families because the little ones have plenty of space to run around and fun things to keep their attention.

When you’re expecting your second child, I know that capturing your maternity can seem overwhelming. But this is such an important milestone for everyone in your family. You are celebrating the new little life to come – the little one you’re all anxiously awaiting. But, you’re also honoring the life you’ve built together so far. Your oldest one will be your only for just a few short months. In those months leading up to your due date, it’s hard to find time to just – be – with your child. A maternity session is a beautiful way to document not just your swelling belly, but the connection you have as a family of three. One day I’m sure it will be hard to remember what just having 1 child felt like. It’s my hope that in your maternity session I can bottle that feeling up so you have your own little time capsule.
