As your Virginia Beach maternity photographer, I think that the beach is such a symbolic location for a maternity session. As you stand on the shore of the ocean, with your baby in your belly, you are truly right there waiting, trusting, and in wonder of the unknown. There is so much ahead of you, wild and unpredictable, but more incredible than you can ever know at this moment.

I see all of those things in photographs like this one, wonder, worry, love, protection, and connection. It is such a joy to capture moments like this for you and your family!

This beautiful beach session was held during the last week of the year. While it’s definitely chilly, if photographs on the beach will make your mama heart happy, there is no need to avoid the shore in the winter months! Look at this gorgeous winter sunlight!

We were even able to include this little, big brother! I loved that mama brought her family with her so that when this little guy got too chilly, he could go warm up with some of his favorite people.

Mama had her sister do her hair and makeup. Didn’t she do an incredible job? I love how much family was involved with making this evening a success!
