As a Washington DC maternity photographer, I am often asked to photograph pregnancy announcements. These are such joyful sessions! Juliet reached out several weeks ago to begin planning a session for her little family. We quickly decided we wanted to take advantage of the late summer warmth and light and celebrate the changing of the seasons with a family picnic.

Hope Flower Farm provided the perfect backdrop for this session. The tree-lined drive leads to the most beautiful farmhouse. The rolling hills surrounded us and created an intimate setting. Here, on the lawn of the house, we layed down some picnic blankets and I captured this family laugh and love with each other.

We loved the beautiful blooms that were grown locally at Hope Flower Farm and the stunning bouquet that was graciously and expertly designed by our host.

Kelley Cannon, beautifully styled this picnic spread. The family had such a wonderful time with other. I just love the sweet way this family chose the celebrate the end of this season for their family.

Pinar’s Patisserie provided the most exquisuisetly decorated sugar cookes for dessert!

They were almost too beautiful to eat, but baby Zane enjoyed them, and the sweet message they shared.
