As a Washington, DC maternity photographer, I find that there is hardly a more iconic location than the monuments at the National Mall. I think it’s so special that one day your little one will get to see you taking in these powerful views while you still carried him in your belly.
These two knew that they wanted to document their maternity at the Lincoln Memorial. It’s an area they run through frequently. I’m sure they’ve run these steps many times, and I love how special it will be to look back at these one day.
We actually had to postpone this session once due to terrible weather, and it was still drizzling as I drove into the city this morning. When we arrived, the reflecting pool was covered in fog and the street lights were casting a soft, glow, but luckily the rain had stopped. Definitely not a sun-filled day, but we lucked out because we almost had the whole place to ourselves! I just love the dreamy softness that the fog added to this session!
This is such a beautiful view! I always like to let my couples take a few minutes to take this in!
I would love to help you document your own motherhood story. If you would like more information about a session with me, I’d love to invite you to send a little note my way here.
