As your Washington, DC newborn photographer, I typically work with very fresh babies. Most of my newborn sessions take place when baby is 5-14 days old. This is the best time to document all of those tiny newborn details – wrinkly toes, flaky skin, and a super sleepy babe. But there are lots of reasons to wait until your baby is a little bit older.
This baby was almost 3 months old, and I think that’s a great age for moms who would rather give themselves some time to recover, while still documenting their baby. By 3 months old, you’re probably starting to feel a little more confident and comfortable and the love and connection you have with baby has only grown stronger. Baby is making eye contact with you (and me!) and might even give us a few real smiles.
Mom and Dad chose to bring their dog along (I do allow dogs in the studio with an added pet fee that allows me to do an extra deep clean) and if you’ve followed my work at all, you know that just made my day! Is there anything sweeter than a good dog and baby combination!?
I would love to help you document your own family’s story. If you would like more information about a session with me, I’d love to invite you to send a little note my way here.
Did you know my studio wardrobe is available to all of my clients? I know how challenging it can be to find pieces that you love for an ever-changing body. My studio wardrobe is a well-curated collection of boutique and designer dresses for both new and expectant mothers. I also have beautiful options for children up to around age 8. You can read more about my studio wardrobe here and see a gallery of dresses available to you here.
