Late summer in the Texas hill country, 38 weeks pregnant with twins. It was already over 90 degrees just after sunrise. Documenting this water maternity session was not only an absolute dream for me, but it couldn’t have been a more perfect way to keep this mother cool and refreshed.

We met at sunrise and explored along the edges of the deep pools formed in the limestone along the Pedernales River. There were no sounds other than the occasional splash from a fish surfacing the still water and the gentle rush of the small waterfalls behind us.

This mother had the entire scene to herself. She was able to connect with her body and her babies. We chatted about motherhood and pregnancy and multiple babies. And we honored the strength of the her body which has carried and protected her babies and supported her through it all.
