It’s always a good morning when I wake up and have a request for a newborn session. As a Virginia newborn photographer, I don’t think it’s ever too late to schedule a newborn session – even if baby is already a few weeks old! After all, they’ll never be this little again! I have so many mamas reach out once baby is already born. Once you see your little one changing over night you realize – my goodness, time is a thief!

This little guy was already a few days old when his mama reached out. I am so glad I had availability for them! What a darling family they are! One of the joys of photographing older babies is that they are often already making eye contact with you. And oh how you’re going to melt when you see that in a photograph!

I just love these images of motherhood. It’s such a joy to photograph first-time mothers as they so gracefully and naturally take on this new role – as is they’ve been made for it!

This little guy had so much hair! I always make sure to document these little details!
