As your Washington, DC maternity photographer, I am always delighted for the couples who get to document their maternity session in the spring. While the cherry blossoms in DC seem to get most of the attention, I think that spring is best enjoyed outside of the city. The new life in the fields and gardens is so symbolic for couples as they celebrate the new life they are anticpating. It’s such a lovely experience to be outdoors, with all the space you need, a quiet garden or field completely to yourselves. I love when my clients can truly relax during our time together and really take in the evening.
Though it was mostly a cloudy evening, the sun did come out for a few minutes here and there. I love the golden glow you see in some of these photographs! The pink of the redbuds adds such a sweet nod to this season of hope!
We even found a few magnolias still on the trees. I just love that golden glow you see coming in behind them.
This redbud tree and white picket fence provided the most beautiful little vignette!
I would love to help you document your own motherhood story. If you would like more information about a session with me, I’d love to invite you to send a little note my way here.
Did you know my studio wardrobe is available to all of my clients? I know how challenging it can be to find pieces that you love for an ever-changing body. Clothing for this beautiful, expectant mother was provided by the studio wardrobe.

[…] I am definitely seeing a baby boom as your Washington, DC newborn photographer! All of those pandemic babies are joining us earthside and I am here for it! I have had so many little ones in the studio this week. It’s been so fun to see their sweet little faces after getting to know their parents during their maternity session. This little girl came several weeks early. Seems like just a few weeks ago we were at Oatlands Historic House and Gardens for their gorgeous maternity session that you can see here. […]
