The only thing that is more amazing than a newborn session, is a twin newborn session. And it is always an honor to witness and document a mama and her family take on their new role and get to know a new little person – but it is truly humbling to watch a mother gracefully take on two babies in additional to an older sibling.

These little girls were 3 weeks old when I got to meet them, and Mom and Dad already had a rhythm – keeping these babies fed and comforted while nurturing their older son, who is just learning what it means to be a big brother. I was in awe of how peacefully and easily this family seemed to have adjusted. Though, after spending a truly enjoyable evening with them during their maternity session I shouldn’t have been surprised.

As these little ladies were welcomed to the world as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to turn our lives upside down, Mama and I decided that we both felt most comfortable with only a few indoor moments. We spent the rest of the session outdoors – and while outdoor newborn sessions haven’t always been a thing – I hope this trend sticks around a bit.
