One of the first things we do as we start planning your maternity session is choose a location. As a maternity photographer serving the Washington, DC area, I have suggestions for dozens of locations. I spend hours upon hours of time scouting out the area to find unique locations for my clients. But, there’s nothing better than arranging to have your session at place that’s meaningful to you. Sometimes it’s where you were married, or a favorite place you went when you were dating. This mama is an architect and is just wrapping up the historic preservation of the beautiful Hampton Mansion. I love that she chose to have her maternity session here! How amazing to get to show her little one this beautiful place!

I went up to scout the location a few weeks prior to the session and was so excited! So many beautiful vignettes – from the mansion itself, to the winding paths and manicured gardens. This location has a little something for everyone. We took our time exploring the grounds and learning about the history of the estate. We started in front of the mansion and finished up in a gorgeous field with an impressive tree and long grasses. Mama looked amazing everywhere we went!
