I love all of my sunrise sessions in the District, but when the scaffolding finally came down from the Jefferson Memorial, I can’t say I wasn’t thrilled. As your Washington, DC maternity photographer, if you’re considering a monument session, I will always encourage you to use the Jefferson. I just find the light there to be a little extra special.

This gorgeous couple had the luckiest session of the year! The scaffolding came down just a week before their session, and even thought it was mid-November, they had warm temperatures and full sun at sunrise!

We started out at the Lincoln Memorial just before the most amazing sunrise. The ducks were out in force in the reflecting pool this morning. I just love when they join us!

After enjoying the amazing views at the Lincoln, we headed to the Jefferson and aside from a gorgeous bald eagle, had the place almost completely to ourselves. As we were just about to walk inside the monument, a couple of white-top helicopters flew over. Hard to be more DC than that.
