I first met this Mom and Dad just over a year ago when we planned for their maternity session at the Lincoln Memorial. This week, I met them their for their final, 1-year session, as part of the First Year Collective. As your Washington, DC newborn photographer, it brings me so much joy to get to know you and your little ones. I love hearing how life is going – first with the joys and challenges of pregnancy, then your birth story, and then the sweet stories of that first year as a mother. I love seeing your babies go from sleepy, tiny little things, to busy, chunky toddlers – who give me a workout trying to keep up.

Their maternity session was a cloudy, foggy day, and so it only seemed fitting that their final session would be overcast as well. But to be honest – I almost enjoy the cloudy days at the monuments even more.

This little guy got to watch the ducks in the reflecting pool and climb those big, marble steps up to the top of the memorial. Truly some big milestones for his very first year!
