As a Washington, DC newborn photographer, I am always thrilled and honored when a mother reaches out to scheduled a newborn session in their home. In any session we will document sweet details and the connection between you and your sweet, fresh baby. But, in an in-home session, I will also make sure to preserve the details of baby’s first home.

One day, your little one will look through the photographs we took during one of the first days of her life, and she’ll see the beautiful home you carefully prepared for her. The heirloom pieces that you placed in her nursery, how tiny she was in her crib, and the sweet books you chose to fill the shelves of her bookcase are all darling details she’ll love to look through.

We’ll also be able to photograph her with any pets you have. For so many families, their pets are their first baby, and it is such a special relationship for your baby. How fun to get to look back on how it first started – usually with over-enthusastic licks to the face!

Another benefit of an in-home newborn session is getting to include any visiting grandparents. The connection between grandparents and grandchildren is one of the most special bonds there is. It is an absolute gift that you’re giving to both of them to document this relationship from the very beginning!
