As your Washington, DC newborn photographer, there is no greater joy than meeting up with maternity clients for their newborn session. It’s truly such an honor to get to witness this journey that you’re on and I’m always just over-the-moon thrilled to see you with that sweet baby finally in your arms. There are always some quiet moments during these sessions and I love to hear about your experiences just a few days in. Your birth story, how the first few days have been going, and how you had no idea your heart could grow so big. There is just nothing like meeting your baby for the very first time – it changes you completely.

The first few days, while filled with happiness, can also be completely overwhelming. These sessions give you a chance to see your new little love all snuggled up. When you take a moment and watch as I document your little one in your partner’s arms, sometimes it’s just too much. So often I have parents shed some happy tears. Other times, they just can’t keep the smile off their face. And, quite frequently, I have dads take naps! I love serving families in this way. I love that you feel comfortable sharing details of baby’s arrival with me. I’m so happy to give you a chance to rest. But more than that, I love that I can give you these moments in real life that move you to tears, and that you’ll be able to look back on forever.

I was so excited to get the call that Baby L was here! At just 9 days new, we were able to bring little Baby L into the studio and document that fresh baby goodness.
