As a Washington, DC maternity photographer, I am always thrilled when my clients ask me to take them to a stunning landscape as the setting for their session. These locations are so symbolic for maternity sessions. You and your partner are out on one of the last adventures you’ll have as just the two of you. Similar to the journey into parenthood, you’re headed into the unknown. These sessions are always memorable experiences. You don’t just walk away with just beautiful photographs, but also the sweet memory of the afternoon spent together.

In late February, this couple threw on their snow boots and trudged through the slush to our location along the Potomac River. I love that the snow-capped rocks in the background will forever be a reminder for this family of the winter season they spent preparing for their first little one.

Many of my mamas want to wear more than 1 dress during their session. I bring a little pop-up tent along with us so you can have privacy no matter where we are! I love that this mama chose two beautiful dresses that showed off her sweet baby belly so well!
