As a Northern Virginia newborn photographer, I am lucky enough to get to see and hold the most beautiful newborn babies very regularly. However, the wonder and joy of these tiny, perfect little people never gets old. Likewise, the beauty of motherhood just continues to inspire me. I love witnessing my clients as they grow as mothers.

I had the pleasure of documenting this mother’s growing family when she was expecting her first baby. When she told me she was expecting their second, I couldn’t have been happier for her!

We chose to document this little girl’s welcome to the world with a very quiet, intimate session that celebrates both motherhood and this new little life. This beautiful girl stayed peacefully asleep in her mother’s arms the entire session.

I feel so called to not only document the bond between a mother and her baby, but also to show these women just how beautiful they look in this motherhood role. Not only do mothers have a natural glow, their expressions are timeless and universal. In those early days you might feel out of sorts and it can be hard to see the beauty in the chaos. However, I know that one day you’ll be thrilled to have photographs like these to look back on!

As your Northern Virginia newborn photographer, I want you to feel completely relaxed at at ease. You have enough to worry about! All of my clients are welcome to borrow clothing from my studio wardrobe or choose to add on luxurious hair and makeup services so all you have to do is show up! Wouldn’t a few hours of pampering following by snuggles with your new love be the perfect way to spend the day?
